Has anyone been using a CMS like Git or Bitbucket to manage Jobs and configuration settings with source control? I'm looking for a way to track changes in jobs and tasks and provide some way to roll back or at least view change history. Is storing the entire settings file and triggering commits when it changes the only option?

I tried something like that several years ago and shelved the notion, mostly because the settings exports of jobs and tasks include the last run time, which meant capturing actual changes as opposed to recognizing every job as changed in every commit was more hassle than I was willing to work on at the time.
