I have an old Outlook PST file that I need to inspect, but Outlook isn't installed on my current system. I mainly want to preview emails, attachments, contacts, calendars, and the folder structure without modifying the original PST file.

Is there a reliable PST Viewer that can open and preview PST files directly? It would be helpful if the tool supports both ANSI and Unicode PST files and can handle older Outlook archives.

I came across SysInfo PST Viewer,  which is designed for viewing PST files without requiring Outlook. It allows users to browse mailbox folders and preview emails, attachments, contacts, calendars, tasks, and other PST data.

Yes, you can preview an Outlook PST file without installing Microsoft Outlook by using a dedicated PST viewer. This is particularly useful when you need to inspect emails, contacts, calendars, attachments, or other mailbox data on a system where Outlook is not installed.

One option is the SysTools PST Viewer, which allows users to open and preview PST files without requiring Outlook. It can display mailbox folders and email content, including attachments, while keeping the original PST file unchanged. For large or inaccessible PST files, a dedicated viewer can also be more convenient than installing Outlook just to inspect the data. I’d recommend working with a copy of the PST file if the data is important and avoiding any tool that requires modifying the original file just for previewing.
