I have several old Outlook PST files that I need to move into an email application that works with EML. The problem is that Outlook isn't installed on the machine where I'm doing the migration. I initially thought I'd have to install Outlook just to open the PST and manually save each email, but that sounds painful for a large mailbox.
I found that a dedicated
DRS PST Converter can read PST files directly and export them to EML without depending on Outlook. What I particularly like is being able to preview the mailbox first and use Search or Advanced Search to locate the emails I actually need instead of blindly converting everything.
For a small PST, manual export may be okay, but once there are thousands of messages, I think direct conversion makes much more sense. Has anyone used a
PST-to-EML converter without Outlook installed? How was the result with folders and attachments?
