One thing I always worry about during email migrations is losing folder organization. Rebuilding mailbox structures manually after conversion can be extremely time-consuming.
I recently used DRS Softech PST Converter  on an older PST archive, and the software preserved the complete folder hierarchy along with email headers, timestamps, and attachments. After conversion, everything appeared in the same structure as the original mailbox.
For large business archives, preserving organizational structure is just as important as preserving the emails themselves, so this feature was particularly useful.

Keeping the folder structure intact is one of the main things to check when converting PST files. The converter should preserve the original folders and subfolders so that emails remain organized after conversion. DataVare PST Converter is worth considering when folder preservation is important, as it can retain the PST folder hierarchy along with attachments and email properties.

Before converting, I would check these points:
1. Folder hierarchy: Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts and custom subfolders should remain organized.
2. Attachments: Verify that attachments are available in the converted emails.
3. Multiple PST files: Batch processing can help when several mailboxes need to be converted.
4. Output format: Select the format required for the destination, such as MBOX, EML, MSG, EMLX, HTML, PDF or IMAP.
5. Final verification: Open the converted data and compare the folder structure with the original PST.

Testing one PST first is a good way to confirm that the folder arrangement is retained before processing the complete mailbox.
