I'm trying to understand the safest answer for how to reset Outlook view to default. My Inbox and Calendar don't look the way they used to, and changing individual settings feels like I'm chasing one problem after another.

From what I've read, outlook.exe /cleanviews can reset Outlook's custom views across folders. That sounds useful when multiple folders have been changed, but apparently it also removes custom views, so I'd rather not run it blindly.

For a single problematic folder, View > Reset View seems like the less drastic approach. I'd probably start there and only use the command if several views are affected.

I'm also wondering where a PST recovery tool fits into this. If Outlook is showing corrupted-looking folders or keeps crashing, then the issue may not really be the view. DRS Softech PST Recovery Tool is designed to recover data from damaged PST files and can save recovered mailbox content in formats including PST, EML, MSG, MBOX, and Office 365.

What approach worked best for you without losing your custom Outlook settings?
