A straightforward approach is to export the required Exchange mailbox data directly into a PST file and then verify the exported copy. Before beginning, identify the mailbox that needs to be preserved and make sure the source data is accessible. Once the export is complete, check the PST for important emails, folders, and attachments before using it elsewhere.

For a more organized export process, the Aryson Exchange Server Backup Tool can create PST files from Exchange mailbox data. It provides a dedicated method for preserving mailbox information outside the server environment, which can be useful for backup, archiving, or Outlook access. Using a separate PST copy also leaves the original mailbox available for comparison during verification.

Users who want to migrate primary mailbox to Outlook PST  should review the exported file before considering the process complete. Confirm that the expected mailbox content is present and readable, particularly important messages and attachments. Keeping the original Exchange mailbox unchanged until this check is finished provides an additional safeguard against accidental data loss.
