I have several archived emails stored as PDFs and want to open them as actual EML messages. I’m currently using Thunderbird, so I’d rather not install Outlook just for the conversion.

From what I understand, EML is supported by several email clients, including Thunderbird and Windows Mail, so Outlook shouldn't necessarily be required. The tricky part is actually creating proper EML files from PDFs.

A PDF to EML Converter  seems like a cleaner solution than opening every PDF, copying the content, creating a new email, and saving it manually. I came across DRS Softech PDF Converter, which can reportedly create EML files without requiring an email client and lets users select individual files or an entire folder.

Has anyone used a converter this way? I’m especially interested in whether the EML output keeps the original formatting, headers, and other available email data rather than simply converting the visible PDF text.
