Our IT department recently evaluated different approaches for cross-tenant migration, and I thought I'd share a few observations while asking for community feedback.

At first, we assumed PowerShell would be enough. After creating test scripts, we realized how much manual work was involved in mapping users, mailboxes, permissions, and SharePoint resources. Monitoring failed jobs also became difficult because native methods don't always provide detailed reporting.

While researching alternatives, I noticed several discussions mentioning MacSonik Office 365 Tenant to Tenant Migration  alongside other enterprise migration platforms. Most Graph API-based solutions seem designed specifically to automate these complicated processes.

The advantages that caught my attention included centralized migration workflows, real-time monitoring, detailed activity logs, automated mailbox mapping, and support for thousands of users during enterprise-scale migrations. They also appear to preserve metadata, timestamps, sharing permissions, and folder hierarchy much more consistently than manual approaches.

One thing I particularly liked was the availability of a free demo version. Being able to test the migration process before deploying it in production is reassuring, especially for organizations handling critical business data.
